Job Description

MACOM designs and manufactures semiconductor products for Data Center, Telecommunication, and Industrial and Defense applications. Applications Engineer

An Applications Engineer 1 at MACOM performs routine assignments in the entry level to a professional job progression under direct supervision. The role typically involves knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Develops competence by performing structured work assignments and uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems. Receives instruction, guidance, and direction from others.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine tasks and assignments in support of engineering projects.
  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of semiconductor devices.
  • Follow standard procedures and protocols to solve basic engineering problems.
  • Receive and act on feedback from more experienced engineers and supervisors.
  • Document and report on work progress and outcomes.

Key Competencies & Skills Required:

  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under direct supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience, including internships or co-op positions.
