We have exciting opportunities for students wishing to complete their University internship requirement at a Corporate, Community or Hospital based facility. An internship with HealthFitness provides students with exposure and/or experience in many fitness and health related areas.

An internship with HealthFitness provides students with exposure and/or experience in many fitness and health related areas.

A recreation focused internship with HealthFitness provides students with exposure and/or experience in many, or all, of the following areas :

• Assist in the promotion & timely running of recreation events including tournaments, mixers, leagues, and play events.

• Job shadow while an employee teaches individual/group sports lessons to children and adults while providing a fun, engaging playing environment that addresses the skill level of the students.

• Assist members/guests at the recreation desk with enrollment, purchases, reservations, and equipment checkout using our software management system.

• Assist with racquet restringing, regripping, minor court/equipment maintenance.

• Assist with preparation and breakdown of recreation equipment for events.

• Ensure students/players adhere to safety guidelines and demonstrate good sportsmanship.

• Assist recreation staff with general day-to-day duties of the office.

• Attend all regularly scheduled office hours and meetings.

• Other duties as needed/assigned.

Qualifications:

• Junior or Senior level Bachelor's or Master's level student working towards a degree in Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Recreation, or related field from an accredited college or university.

• Current Adult/Infant/Child CPR, AED and First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross required, American Safety & Health Institute or National Safety Counsel, must be OSHA compliant training with in-person component (if not current will be required by start date of internship).

• Communication skills to instruct and interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals.

• Internship must be for school credit.

• Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.

We have exciting opportunities for students wishing to complete their University internship requirement as a Summer Recreation Intern at our Walton Corporate facility in the   Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness Center , managed by HealthFitness and located in Bentonville, AR.
